Hear the stories behind the science. At Behind the Breakthroughs, Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM)
researchers take the stage for a series of short, TED-style talks built for any audience about the trials and
triumphs behind discoveries that might one day help you or someone you love. Each presenter received
$60,000 in seed funding through the ITM’s Pilot Awards program, which backs early-stage, creative ideas with
the potential to change the world.The event brings Chicagoland community members together with physicians
and scientists to spark connections and hear about ITM-funded research in an approachable, public-friendly
way — with free food, an open bar, and great networking.
